Ustaz Mohd Bakir Mansor

Ustaz Mohd Bakir is a member of Bank Islam’s Shariah Supervisory Council (“SSC”) since 2001. Prior to his appointment as a member of SSC, Ustaz Mohd Bakir had already served as the Shariah Coordinator for Bank Islam cum Secretary of the SSC, a post he has held since 1984. Previously, he was one of the Chief Assistant Directors at the Islamic Research Centre in the Prime Minister’s Department for four years from 1980.

Ustaz Mohd Bakir is also currently :

the Designated Person for Shariah Advisory on Shariah-based Unit Trust Funds as well as Chairman of the Shariah Committee of IBFIM.
Chairman of the Shariah Committee for Association of Islamic Banking Institution Malaysia (AIBIM) and
A member of the Shariah Advisory Body of Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Berhad,
A member of the Shariah Advisory Body of ASEAN ReTakaful International (L) Ltd,
A Shariah member of the Shariah Panel Committee of Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (“AIM”) and;
A Shariah Advisor for the Employees Provident Fund (EPF)

He had also served at the National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs in the Prime Minister’s Department for 10 years from 1971.

Ustaz Mohd Bakir is an approved Individual Shariah Advisor by the Securities Commissions of Malaysia.

Throughout the years, Ustaz Mohd Bakir has published a wide range of writings and presented numerous paperworks relating to the Islamic banking and finance industry.

Ustaz Md Zaki Ab Manan

Ustaz MD Zaki, holds a Masters Degree in Syariah from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and a Master in Philosophy/PhD from the school of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.

Started his Career at the Islamic Research Center, Islamic Division, Prime Minister's Department, Ustaz Zaki's working experience spans the Islamic Religious Department, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Islamic Advancement Department Kota Kinabalu , Sabah, Publications Department of the Islamic Advancement Department of Malaysia, and the Islamic Training Institute of Malaysia.

A Specialist Syariah researcher in Halal foods, capsules, cosmetics and other animal products, Ustaz Zaki actively participates in TV and Radio Forums as well as giving Lectures at Government Departments and INTAN. He has also attended and presented papers at International Islamic Seminars and Forums. Ustaz Zaki also advises Koperasi Muslimin Malaysia on its business activities.
